Eagle Watch 2011 at Fort Belle Fontaine Park

The FFBFP Eagle Watch went well on January 22, 2011. People showed up to enjoy the sun, snow, hotdogs and smores while looking at the bald eagles. The fire kept everyone warm and the tents and parking area cleared by Jim Henley and his Parks Maintenance crew were instrumental to a successful event. Mike Kladky helped set up and was there to offer historical facts to visitors. Thanks to all the FFBFP Board members who were there or supported this event such as in printing postcards, mailing labels, bringing scopes or smores, coordinating with the World Bird Sanctuary, getting the media out or making eagle calls. Jack Olsen was once again there with hotdogs and chocolate. The MO Hill Home staff and the student that came not only enjoyed the experienced but brought and set up chairs and tables and helped clear away the snow. The brochures and informational tables were ‘key’ to disseminating information to visitors regarding the Friends of Fort Belle Fontaine Park and why they do what they do. JD Magurany from St. Louis County Parks was instrumental during set up and coordinating. Thanks to everyone.
